Mail-In Service: Unlock Your ECU

1. What is the Mail-In Service?

Some new ECUs have advanced security protections. Our Mail-In Service safely removes these locks so you can work on them using standard tools.

The result: After we unlock it, the ECU works just like a standard model. Any tuning tool that supports your ECU's "bench protocol" will be able to work on it without any extra restrictions.

2. Requirements

To use this service, please ensure:

You have used our CMDFlash tool to identify the ECU.
Your CMDFlash subscription is active, with at least 7 days of validity left.

3. How to start

If your CMDFlash tool identifies that your ECU needs an unlock and it is available in our lab:

The tool will direct you to this page.
Follow the steps below to prepare your shipment.

4. RMA Form

To make it easy, our system generates your paperwork automatically:

Press the button that appears on the screen after identification, or look in this folder on your computer: \Documents\My ECU Backups

Print the document found there. It contains all the technical details, customs info, and the form for your return shipping. Please include this inside your package.

5. Fast Processing

We work fast so you don't lose time:

Same-Day Service: We process and ship your ECU back the same day it arrives at our lab.
Tip: We recommend using an express courier when sending your ECU to us.

We have recently finalized a contract with FedEx, which allows us to be more precise regarding shipping costs for our mail-in bench unlock service.

The price for unlocking a single unit is set at 150 CHF, plus return shipping costs of up to a maximum of 100 CHF, depending on the destination.

If you wish to send multiple control units in a single shipment, return shipping costs will be calculated based on the total weight and destination. 6. ECU Opening

Sometimes, we must open the ECU casing to unlock it. If we do, we will professionally re-seal it before shipping it back to you.
